VG OST Pick Of The Week: Hans Zimmer - Crysis 2 Epilogue Main Theme

Something a little more modern this week. I am a huge fan of Hans Zimmer. If you don't know him, well... he's probably done the soundtrack for one of your favorite movies ever. The Dark Knight, Inception, Gladiator, The Last Samurai, The Lion King, True Romance, Crimson Tide, Pearl Harbor, The Rock, Pirates of the Carribean, The Da Vinci Code, and so many others. I chose his theme for Crysis 2 for this week's VG OST. Mr. Zimmer, you are a god amongst men.

VG OST Pick Of The Week: Final Fantasy X - To Zanarkand

This week, I chose Final Fantasy X - To Zanarkand for a specific reason. Tonight, (Saturday December 8th) I will be attending Distant Worlds - Music From Final Fantasy with Nobuo Uematsu. Since To Zanarkand is his personal favorite, I thought it fitting to use it for this week's OST pick. If chance permits, we'll be asking Nobuo Uematsu some questions we believe have never been asked. Stay tuned !

VG OST Pick Of The Week: Bubble Bobble - Main Theme

I often say that this track will bring a smile to any old-school gamer the moment it starts. Sure works for me. Bubble Bobble was so simple as a game, but it is as fun today as it was back then. I remember playing for hours, it got really tough at some point, I'm not even sure if I've ever beaten it. A timeless game, true classic.

VG OST Pick Of The Week: Tales of Symphonia - Full Force

Ahhh, Tales of Symphonia. My 2nd best RPG of all time, only second to XenoGears. I enjoyed playing this so much. I actually played it again recently. I chose the combat theme for this week's OST, and can totally hear "Demon Fang ! Demon Fang ! Sonic Thrust ! Photon ! Angel Feathers !" and so on in my head while listening. I'm sure fans of Tales of Symphonia will agree.

VG OST Pick Of The Week: Final Fantasy VII - Prelude

The origin of anything and everything. The purest song in all of gaming. Whoever you are, if you're a gamer, you know this one. For me, it symbolizes my youth and all the memories. I grew up with Final Fantasy.

In December, I will attend Nobuo Uematsu's Distant Worlds: Music from Final Fantasy, so I thought this would be a great pick for this week's OST.

Enjoy the memories this brings you (always).

VG OST Pick Of The Week: Super Castlevania IV - Cave

Castlevania IV. One of the greatest games ever made. I recently played it again, and it is every bit as awesome as it was back then.

The whole soundtrack is great, for this week I chose Cave, it's one of the best in my opinion.

VG OST Of The Week: XenoGears - The One Who Is Torn Apart

For this week, I selected my personal greatest video game of all time, XenoGears. Often in the game, during special story events, this track plays in the background. I will always remember it. This one, and another I will post another week :)

VG OST Of The Week: Punch Out - Fight Music

Ahhh... Punch-Out. One of my first memories of gaming, along with Kung-Fu, and Mario and Zelda. Punch-Out's music was amazing at the time and in my opinion, still is today. I will use the training theme in a later post, but this week... the Fight music.

VG OST Of The Week: The Legend of Zelda: A Link To The Past - Sanctuary Dungeon

For this week, I picked The Legend of Zelda: A Link To The Past - Sanctuary Dungeon. Every soundtrack from ATTP is amazing, but this one for some reason makes me nostalgic and makes me want to play it again.

VG OST Of The Week: Mass Effect - Endings Song

This week for VG OST, I chose Mass Effect's Credits Song by Jack Wall and Sam Hulick.

It's very different from the usual Mass Effect soundtrack, it's not the type of music I usually listen to, but for some reason I really like this song.

VG OST Of The Week: Top Gear - Mad Racer

Every Friday, I will post a random video game soundtrack as the VG OST Of the Week.

This week, Top Gear :)
